What to look for in these photos

Installation photos all look broadly similar until you know what separates a good job from a fast one. A few things are worth noticing here, because they are the same things worth checking on any quote you receive.

Look at where the cable goes. On every exterior camera in these photos there is no conduit running down the wall, because the cable was fished through the structure instead. That takes longer on installation day, and it is the difference between hardware that looks like part of the building and hardware that looks bolted on — as well as removing the most obvious thing for an intruder to cut.

Look at the racks. Cables are dressed and run in parallel rather than bundled by hand, terminated into labelled patch panels, and left with enough service loop to re-terminate later. Every port is numbered at both ends and recorded on a port map, which is what turns a future fault into a two-minute lookup instead of an afternoon of tracing.

Look at the mounting. On coastal South Florida properties the hardware and fixings have to be rated for salt air, and everything outdoors has to be sealed properly at the entry point and mounted to survive hurricane-season wind. Standard indoor-grade hardware installed outside near the water will visibly corrode within a couple of years.
